Privacy Policy

MagicTrees.ai (“we”, “us”) is a visual AI brainstorming tool. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what we need to run the product, we don't sell your data, and you can delete your account and everything in it.
What we collect
- Account data. Your email address and display name when you sign up.
- Your trees. The trees you create — node names, descriptions, prompts you type, and the full history of edits and AI generations (used for undo and replay features).
- Usage and analytics data.Product events (e.g. creating a tree, sharing, remixing), and first-touch marketing attribution: UTM parameters, the referring URL, the page you landed on, and — if you arrived via a shared tree — that tree's share link. We store this in a cookie for up to 90 days and attach it to your account when you sign up.
- Guest data. If you use MagicTrees without an account, we set a guest cookie so your tree is still yours when you come back or sign up.
AI processing
When you grow a tree, the relevant parts of it (the topic, node names and context you provide) are sent to our AI provider, OpenAI, to generate suggestions. We do not send your email or account details with those requests. AI output can be inaccurate — trees are labeled as potentially containing AI-generated content, and you should review important ideas before acting on them.
How we use your data
- To provide the product: storing, rendering, and growing your trees.
- To operate shared links you explicitly create.
- To understand how the product is used and improve it.
- To measure marketing (which campaigns and shared trees bring people here).
We do not sell your personal data. Trees are private unless you press Share, which creates a public link you can revoke at any time.
Storage and retention
Your data is stored in our database (MongoDB) hosted with our cloud infrastructure providers. We keep it for as long as your account exists. Un-sharing a tree removes its public page immediately.
Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the app, or by emailing support@magictrees.ai. Deletion removes your user record, all of your trees, their growth history, and any public share pages.
Cookies
We use cookies for sign-in sessions, the guest sandbox, and first-touch attribution (described above). Analytics and advertising pixels, where used, are gated behind consent where required by law.
